Home Projects Ecosystem for Occupational Medicine and Health Management Papeleiro — automatic document printing
Integration & Automation
A service that runs at the clinic's reception desk and prints the documents for each visit on its own, as soon as the system releases them. Nobody has to click anything.
At the reception desk of a busy clinic, someone spends the whole day doing the same thing: opening the visit screen, clicking print, choosing the printer, waiting, handing the paper to the patient. Dozens of times a day. It is work that calls for no decision at all, yet it occupies a person and introduces delay at exactly the point where the patient is standing there waiting.
Papeleiro removes the step. It is a small service that runs on the reception desk's machine and asks the system, every few seconds, whether there is a document waiting to be printed. When there is, it composes the document and sends it straight to the default printer, showing on screen the patient, the company and the health plan for each print job. The solution is deliberately simple: no configuration beyond pointing it at the server, no dependencies to install, and predictable behaviour — if the system released it, the paper comes out.
It removed a repetitive manual task from the reception desk and cut the time patients wait for their printed document.
