Management system for occupational health and safety clinics, from booking the examination through to the invoice. It covers the visit, performing and reporting the examinations, issuing the ASO (the Brazilian occupational health certificate), billing, automatic issuing of invoices with the Brazilian federal tax authority and the issuing of bank payment slips. In production it serves over 350,000 workers and has already recorded more than 743,000 visits and 2.7 million examinations.
The challenge
An occupational health clinic lives with a problem that is hard to see from the outside: it does not serve individuals, it serves contracts. Every client company has job roles, every role carries hazards, every hazard mandates a set of examinations, and every examination has its own expiry date. Getting that combination wrong is not an administrative nuisance — it is a labour liability for the client and a professional responsibility for the doctor who signed. Before the platform, that whole chain lived in spreadsheets and in people's heads. The worker turned up for the examination and someone had to remember what they were due. Lab results came back by email. The ASO was typed in again. And billing happened at the end of the month, reconstructing by hand the tally of what had actually been done.
The solution
AeroMeter models that whole chain and runs it on its own. Starting from the company's contract, the job role and the hazards the worker is exposed to, the system builds the list of examinations due, tracks what has been done and what is expiring, guides the visit along the correct workflow and issues the ASO at the end, with a QR code for checking its authenticity. The clinical side is broad: audiometry, spirometry, electrocardiography, electroencephalography, visual acuity, psychological assessment, campimetry, X-ray with ILO classification and DICOM image viewing. Results arrive ready from three integrated laboratory networks — AutoLac, Worklab and MAM — with no re-typing. Finance closes the loop: billing rules per health plan, invoice generation, automatic issuing of invoices with the Brazilian federal tax authority, and the issuing and transmission of payment slips to the bank, including the protest and protest-waiver workflow. Around all that sits what makes the system work day to day: summoning workers over WhatsApp with button replies, sending email, consumables stock control, and an artificial intelligence layer on AWS Bedrock that reconciles the examination catalogues of clinics and laboratories. All of it runs on a shared domain core — around 150 entities and nearly 190 database versions — which also feeds the client portal and the medical image viewer.
Results
Seven years in production, serving 11 clinics and almost 59,000 client companies. The database holds over 350,000 workers, more than 700,000 visits and nearly 3 million examinations carried out, plus over 35,000 invoices and almost 73,000 financial documents issued. The system has 42 operational modules and a complete audit trail: every relevant change to a visit, an examination, a company or an invoice is recorded, along with who made it and when.
