The challenge
Crane control is unforgiving: the logic must be deterministic, auditable and respond on the equipment's clock, not the network's. At the same time, the operation wanted that control talking to the telemetry platform, without turning the controller into an isolated part.
The architecture solution
IFM controllers programmed in Codesys take on the critical logic next to the machine, and integration with the embedded devices and the backend happens over CAN bus. The boundary is explicit: safety and real time stay in the controller; history, indicators and visualisation go up to the cloud.
